Ontario Provincial Police said an elderly woman is dead after being struck by a motorcyclist in Caledon on Friday.
Police were called to the scene around the rural King Street and Airport Road area just before noon. Peel police said the motorcyclist was going south on Airport Road when the woman was hit. Police believe she was attempting to cross the road.
Peel Paramedics tried to arrange for her to be sent to Sunnybrook Hospital by air while she was still in critical condition, but she was later pronounced dead at the scene. The motorcyclist suffered minor injuries, according to police.
Peel police said that Airport Road will be closed between King Street and Castlederg Side Road for several hours while Ontario Provincial Police help with the investigation.
