B.C. Amber Alert: Missing kids were found in Alberta

Investigators with Surrey RCMP said the two missing children, subjects of an 11-day Amber Alert, were found in Alberta.

Mounties said the children were found on a rural property just outside of the town of Edson, Alta., around 7:20 p.m. Saturday.

Three adults were detained at the property as well, including the mother and her boyfriend.

Abduction charges have been laid against the mother and her boyfriend in relation to the incident. They remain in custody at this time.

“The children were taken to their father who was waiting with investigators at a local detachment in Alberta,” Cpl. Vanessa Munn said, with Surrey RCMP.

“The property there were on was secured for a full search to be conducted (Sunday).”

During the 11-day search, police said 435 tips were received from the public, ranging from across B.C. and Alberta.

“The children have been reunited with their family, who are extremely grateful,” Munn said.

“This is the outcome we have all been hoping for and it is the direct result of the hard work and perseverance of the investigative team.”
