A 23-year-old Pickering man is dead after he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed Thursday evening.
Police said the motorcyclist was driving at a high rate of speed northbound on Whites Road near Oklahoma Drive and crashed into a Honda vehicle waiting to turn into a gas station.
Durham Regional Police officers were called to the scene at approximately 9:15 p.m. They say the rider was transported to Ajax Pickering Hospital, but was pronounced dead shortly afterward..
The driver of the Honda was uninjured.
Police said alcohol and road conditions are not believed to be factors in the collision.
