A male motorcyclist is dead following a collision in the city’s northwest end Wednesday night.
Police say the motorcycle was travelling eastbound on Steeles Avenue West when it collided with a sport utility vehicle turning from Steinway Boulevard, just west of Highway 27, at around 7 p.m.
Speed was likely a factor in the collision, police say.
The man, believed to be in his 50s, was rushed to hospital without vital signs where he was pronounced dead.
There are currently no reports of other injuries.
Police continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the collision at the scene.
Steeles Avenue remains closed between Highway 27 and Highway 427 as police continue to investigate.
