Motorcyclist airlifted to hospital after highway collision

GUELPH, Ont. – A motorcyclist has been airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries after colliding with a car on a highway south of Guelph, Ont.

Provincial police say a car travelling north on the Hanlon Expressway struck the southbound motorbike while making a left turn onto Wellington Road 34.

Police say the driver of the motorcycle has been rushed to Hamilton General Hospital by helicopter with life-threatening injuries.

No other people were injured in the crash.

Southbound lanes on the expressway have been closed between Highway 401 and the Fourth Line while collision specialists investigate the incident.

Wellington Road 34 is also closed between Sideroad 20 and Concession 7.
