A man has died after a motorcycle and a truck collided on a highway in Brampton during rush hour on Monday morning.
Provincial police said the man was riding his motorcycle north on Hwy. 410 near Steeles Avenue at about 9 a.m. when he rear-ended a truck.
The impact threw the man off his motorcycle and onto the pavement, OPP Sgt. Carlos Goncalves told ctvtoronto.ca. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
OPP have confirmed that the truck driver was not hurt.
Witnesses told police that the motorcyclist was travelling at a high rate of speed before the accident.
Northbound lanes on Hwy. 410 near Steeles Avenue were closed for police investigation. All lanes have been reopened.
