Motorcyclist killed in early-morning DVP crash

Toronto has recorded its 21st traffic fatality of the year after a motorcycle crash early Saturday morning.

Police say a 28-year-old man was riding with a group of fellow riders when he lost control of his motorcycle as he entered the on-ramp to the Don Valley Parkway from Bayview Avenue.

The victim slammed into the guardrail, police said. The crash occurred just after midnight.

Paramedics took the man to St. Michael’s Hospital but he died a short time later.

Investigators are blaming driver error for the crash, saying the motorcyclist took the turn too fast.

The accident closed the ramp for several hours.

The victim’s name wasn’t released at his family’s request.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to call Traffic Services at 416-808-1900.
