TORONTO — Ontario’s Special Investigation Unit is looking for witnesses to a collision in Toronto’s west end that left a 24-year-old man with serious injuries.
The SIU says that a Toronto police officer was driving a marked police motorcycle (northbound on Kipling Avenue), when he pulled alongside another motorcycle to speak with the driver.
The driver then allegedly fled the scene and struck a curb before being thrown from his motorcycle and landing in an intersection.
The man was then taken to hospital with a broken arm and a punctured lung.
The SIU has assigned eight investigators to probe the details of the crash.
Anyone with information on the collision is asked to contact the SIU.
