Speed likely to blame in fatal motorcycle crash

OAKVILLE, Ont. – A 33-year-old Oakville man is dead after his motorcycle collided with a van.

Halton Regional Police say the man was driving his motorcycle Friday night around 11:38 p.m. when he struck a Dodge Caravan travelling westbound on Dundas Street.

The man was thrown from his motorcycle.

He was transported by ambulance to Hamilton General Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The other driver was not injured.

Members of the police reconstruction unit are investigating, and say the speed of the motorcycle may have been a factor in the crash.
