Three dead after motorcycle and SUV collide in Burlington

Halton Regional Police are trying to determine what led to an SUV and a motorcycle colliding in Burlington on Saturday evening, killing three people almost instantly.

Police say they were called to the corner of Dundas Street West and Eaglesfield Drive at 6:10 p.m. for a report of a collision.

Sgt. Dennis said a male and female on the motorcycle were thrown from their vehicle, with the male driver ending up inside the SUV. The female passenger on the motorbike was thrown off the bike into a grassy area.

Insp. Dave McCartney said the motorcycle is wedged inside the wreck of the SUV, believed to be a Ford Escape.

One male inside the SUV was also pronounced dead at the scene.

Police closed Dundas Street between Brant Street and Blackwood Drive to allow for investigators to reconstruct the collision.
