Three people injured after motorcycle accident

Three people have been taken to hospital after a motorcycle sped out of control near Yonge and Charles Streets on Wednesday.

The bike, believed to a contest prize ready for display, was being unloaded from a truck on Charles Street when the driver inadvertently sped across the sidewalk on the vehicle.

Just after 2:30 p.m., the motorcycle hit an elderly man and woman and then slammed into the side of a building.

All three people were taken to the hospital with injuries.

The elderly pair suffered minor wounds while the driver is reported to have head injuries.

The driver was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

All are expected to recover.

Toronto police closed Yonge Street from Bloor Street to Wellesley Street on Wednesday afternoon.
