Toronto man dies in Myrtle Station motorbike crash

A 22-year-old man is dead after his motorcycle struck a sign post in Durham Region on Sunday afternoon.

OPP Sgt. Dave Woodford told ctvtoronto.ca that the collision occurred around 3:20 p.m. in Myrtle Station, a small hamlet about 65 kilometres east of Toronto.

The motorcyclist was headed south on Highway 7/12, when for unknown reasons, his motorcycle entered a ditch and struck a sign post between Townline Road and the CN Railway.

No other vehicles were involved, Woodford said.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police want to speak to witnesses who may have seen the motorcyclist prior to the crash.
