Trudeau and Nunavut Premier sign ‘historic’ land transfer, largest in Canadian history

Twenty per cent of Canada’s land mass will soon be in the hands of the government of Nunavut. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was in the territory’s capital Iqaluit on Thursday, signing the Nunavut Lands and Resources Devolution Agreement, saying it was a “historic day” for not just Nunavut, but for the entire country.
