LONDON, Ont. — A charity motorcycle ride to raise funds for a London, Ont., cancer program has been marred by a serious crash involving two of its riders.
Both were rushed to hospital with serious injuries Sunday — one by air ambulance — after their motorcycle struck a canoe which had fallen off the top of another vehicle in the Strathroy area.
Police say the canoe was not properly fastened.
The names and ages of the two injured have not been released and there’s been no update Monday on their condition.
There’s no immediate word on whether any charges will be laid against the driver of the vehicle with the canoe, who remained at the scene.
The bike was one of about 250 taking part in London’s “Ride for Dad” charity drive on Sunday.
More than $44,000 was raised for prostate cancer research and awareness.
