BARRIE, Ont. – Police in Barrie, Ont., say two 14-year-old boys are facing a total of 24 charges in an investigation into break-and-enter thefts.
Police say patrol officers spotted two people they believed were stranded motorcyclists early Thursday, but the pair fled when the officers stopped and offered to assist.
The officers gave chase and were able to catch one of them a short distance away, and then determined that the motorcycle had just been stolen from a nearby garage.
After the second boy was arrested, investigators say they were able to link the pair to a rash of break and enters in the neighbourhood.
The teens face charges that include break and enter, motor vehicle theft, possession of stolen property, and theft.
Police say they have seized a quantity of property and are in the process of returning it to the rightful owners.
