MISSISSAUGA, Ont. – A Durham regional police officer is facing a charge of dangerous driving causing bodily harm after a motorcyclist was injured in a collision.
Ontario’s police watchdog says there are reasonable grounds to believe the officer committed a criminal offence in connection with the incident June 30.
The Special Investigations Unit says Durham police reported an officer responding to a call had collided with a motorcycle on Taunton Road in Oshawa.
The 46-year-old motorcyclist sustained multiple fractures on his left side.
Const. Bradley Browne is to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Oshawa on Sept. 7.
The SIU is an arm’s-length agency that investigates reports involving police where there has been death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault.
