Man pronounced dead after motorcycle crash in Etobicoke

One man is dead following a crash involving a motorcycle in Etobicoke Friday evening.

It happened in the eastbound lanes on Rexdale Boulevard, near Humberwood Boulevard, at around 6:30 p.m.

“When (the vehicle) struck the centre median, the bike and the rider landed in the westbound lane,” Sgt. Duncan Miller told CP24 at the scene.

The circumstances surrounding the single-vehicle crash were not immediately clear. Preliminary information provided indicating that a car was also involved in the crash was erroneous.

The man, believed to be in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Rexdale Boulevard was closed for several hours as police investigated. It reopened at around 11 p.m.
